According to an interview with USA TODAY, Dre hinted towards a winter release of his 3rd LP, Detox

The wait for Detox is almost over. Dr. Dre says his long-anticipated third solo album is starting to take shape in the studio and could arrive before the end of the year.

“I’m just now — over the last couple of months — starting to feel that it’s going to be right and it’s something I can be proud of, and everybody is going to love it,” says Dr. Dre (aka Andre Young). “In a perfect world, I’m shooting for a November or December release.”

Dre betta not be bullsh*ttin because “It’s Like That” is BANGIN (see above). It’s not even him on the track – its his ghostwriter.

Nas X moveon.org to protest FOX
July 22, 2008, 4:14 pm

Multi-platinum selling hip hop star Nas will join members of ColorOfChange.org & MoveOn.org on Wednesday to deliver 620,127 petition signatures demanding that FOX end its pattern of racist attacks against Black Americans including presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. The group will make the delivery at 2:00pm on Wednesday, July 23rd at FOX in Manhattan.

Over the last several weeks, FOX has had a string of incidents that many believe are a veiled attempt to prey on racism and intolerance and cast the Obamas as “outsiders”: an on-screen graphic referred to Mrs. Obama as “Obama’s baby mama,” a pundit “confused” Obama with Osama and then joked they should both be assassinated, and an anchor called a loving fist bump between Barack and Michelle a “terrorist fist jab.” In February, Bill O’Reilly talked about calling a “lynching party” to deal with Michelle.

“FOX poisons the country with racist propaganda and tries to call it news,” said Nas. He caught ColorOfChange.org and MoveOn.org’s attention with a new song called Sly Fox, which has lyrics like, “Watch what you watchin’, FOX keeps feeding us toxins, Stop sleeping, Start thinking.”

Just read this off MISS INFO

Sometimes Nas just be sayin sh*t on his records, but how many people can back up their words with actions.

“Save Our Starbucks” Campaign?

Online, several “Save Our Starbucks” petitions have popped up for stores across the country, including locations in San Diego, Dallas and New York City.

The closures mean Starbucks will eliminate about 12,000 jobs, which comes out to 20 for every location it plans to shut. In addition to creating jobs and generating revenue, Starbucks outlets serve as key draws for other retailers, making the loss of one a blow to the surrounding area.

Bloomfield, N.M, also may make its case to Starbucks, said Jo Duckwitz, who works in the city’s procurement office. Ms. Duckwitz said she doesn’t think the customers in this city of fewer than 7,000 people will sorely miss the cafe, but it is a potential blow to the city’s campaign to bring more shops to Bloomfield, she said.

Spotted this article in the Wall Street Journal, about how there is a growing movement to help keep local Starbucks cafes open. It’s kinda frightening, but DAMN now there will only be 1 location per 50 feet instead of 2 or 3. The funny thing is that people are drinking mad amounts, but is it really because of the coffee or just the crazy amounts of sugar pumped into each drink. The last time I had a frap I almost got diabetes. I will give them props on the canned iced coffees though, they’re not that bad and are pretty much always sold out everytime I roll to the store.
