START SAVING UP THE DOUGH

In stores at the end of the year (October or November I believe), the 3/20 Collezione Pack will include the black/cement IIIs, which are the greatest shoes of all time. Unfortunately, you have to buy the pack at a hefty $310, which also forces you to buy the XXs, which are the fugliest Js of all time. The people at JB are biatches for doing this, but I will try my damnest to get two purrs.

Don’t forget to save up an extra $310 to cop the 11/12 pack dropping the next month just in time for the holiday season. Damn you Gentry!

Son got clowned on his own turf.

Oasis’ Noel Gallagher has said that he thinks the decision to book Jay-Z for a headline set at this year’s Glastonbury festival was incorrect.

Speaking to BBC News, Gallagher said that deviating from the festival’s tradition of booking guitar-based headliners was “wrong”.

“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” he said. “If you start to break it then people aren’t going to go. I’m sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance.

Rapper Snoop Dogg recently left the recording studio, recording tracks for Dr. Dre’s highly anticipated album, Detox.

“That record is real it’s coming,” Snoop Dogg said during an interview today (June 25) on Big Boy’s Neighborhood. “You know me, I was starting to doubt it myself and then I went up in there and he played so much music for me it knocked my head off.”

Snoop Dogg confirmed the fabled, decade-long project was finished and that the Doctor was selecting tracks for the album.

“I see what he got them waiting for, it’s on and poppin,” Snoop Dogg said. “He got records, he got heat.”

Dr. Dre will also sit in the producer’s seat for Snoop Dogg’s upcoming album.

“Yea he’s doing my next album. I got the title and everything,” Snoop confirmed without revealing the album’s title.

The future of the rockets

The Rockets drafted Nicolas Batum from France with the 25th pick. I’m kinda skeptical, but Darel Morey’s been pretty solid. I heard SA was tryin to draft him – and you know Pop knows what’s good with these Euro ballers – so who knows? I guess we’ll see. Sorry Tracy, but I think it’s time to blow up the team.

EDIT:

Just a short time after taking the 19-year-old small forward with the No. 25 selection in Thursday’s NBA draft, the Rockets put together a pair of deals that sent away Batum and got back two players in return.

When the night was over, the Rockets had the player they had targeted — Donté Greene of Syracuse — and also added the physical presence of Memphis’ Joey Dorsey to their front line.

Via Houston Chronicle.

I like Dorsey – he was a beast at Memphis. Big-body pause and great energy.

RVCA X CINELLI EXHIBIT COMING TO ATX IN SEPT

Read this up on the SuperTouch

The corner of Haight & Asbury was ground zero for San Francisco’s track bike & messenger culture when RVCA opened their “Pressure” exhibition of collaborative art bikes with esteemed Italian cycle maker CINELLI. On board to customize the premium two-wheelers was an all-star lineup of artists including BARRY MCGEE, ASHLEY MACOMBER, CLARE ROJAS, C.R. STECYK III, DAN MURPHY, DMOTE, JESSE GELLER, JOSH LAZCANO, KAWS, MADSAKI, PHIL FROST, PM TENORE AND STEPHEN POWERS who added their unique touch to an array of new and vintage Cinelli frames and components. While many of the bikes remained rideable works of art, some artists like KAWS, Clare Rojas, Josh Lazcano, and Ashley Macomber transformed their cycles into nonfunctional (or in the case of Lazcano, hyperfunctional) sculptural pieces. With artwork prices escaping the reach of most lowly city peddlers, RVCA created a limited edition series of T-shirts by all artists in the show and debuted some pieces from the new Barry McGee apparel and accessory collection set to drop this fall. Also up for grabs was the eagerly anticipated special Barry McGee production art bike. Available as an edition of 50 pieces worldwide in three frame sizes (54, 56 or 58), the cycle is available as 25 complete bikes and 25 frame-only kits with pricetags of $3,700.00 and $2,100.00 respectively. The run will be available for sale only through RVCA and LANCE ARMSTRONG’s MELLOW JOHNNY’S bike shop in Austin, Texas where the art show will make a stop in late September.
